The main objective of the WASH for Urban Poor (WASH4UP) Phase II project in Bangladesh is to improve environmental health and resilience for WASH-deprived urban poor living in slums and low-income settlements. This involves providing access to basic water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services, promoting knowledge about safe WASH practices, and supporting menstrual hygiene management. The project aims to serve beneficiaries in multiple City Corporations and municipalities across Bangladesh, with a specific focus on improving the lives of vulnerable populations like women and children.
Project Mission, Vision:
The mission of the WASH for Urban Poor Phase II (WASH4UP-II) project is to significantly reduce WASH deprivation among vulnerable urban populations, particularly in slums and low-income communities, by increasing access to climate-resilient and inclusive water, sanitation, and hygiene services and promoting behavioral change.
Its vision is to institutionalize best practices in WASH service delivery and foster more equitable access to essential services for all, with a focus on empowering women and other vulnerable groups.
